Happy Christmas and thanks..

Christmas in the Prendergast household had the tendancy to be fraught. My father placed a huge importance on family yet also on painting. Days away from the studio had the habit of resulting in a fair amount of tension in our household! Combined with brothers who inherited their fathers wit and ability to wind each other up it came as a relief when my mother, on Boxing Day, bellowed at my father to get out to the studio (take all of this with a pinch of salt, I'm sure she'd claim this false memory!). Christmas was a happy if tumultuous time in our house and we'll look back fondly tomorrow on Christmas past (and eat as many potatos as we like, lie in until whenever we like and drink Bailey's without the constant reminder that 'its a depressant you know!') and remember my Dad.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped mark the 10 year anniversary of his death this year and wish you a happy and relaxed festive period! We leave you with this painting entitiled Winter Deiniolen painted in 1996.

Happy Christmas and thanks..
